The Mountaineer Adventure Program, with the support of Well WVU, WVU Veterans Advocate and the WVU Military Veterans Student Organization has created a new program for incoming first year student veterans. This program is designed to support veterans making the transition into their first year at WVU through a 5 day adventure experience and follow up sessions throughout the fall semester. Adventure Veterans strives to foster connections with other incoming 1st year veterans, upperclassmen veterans, critical faculty and staff, as well as the University, and State of West Virginia. Students will also be supported in their transition by acquiring vital information about WVU, student success, and gaining valuable information from upper class WVU veteran students. Following the 5 day experience, participants will meet throughout the fall semester to cover additional material and provide continued support. Participants will earn 3 credit hours upon successful completion of the semester long program. The dates for the program are August 16th – 20th.
The full cost of the program will be subsidized by West Virginia University. However, if you register for the program and later cancel your reservation, a cancellation fee will be charged (even if you do not attend WVU). Cancellation more than 30 days prior to the program start will result in a $95 fee. Those who cancel fewer than 30 days prior to the program start will be charged the full cost of the program $295.
