Located along the Mon River Rail Trail next to Hazel Ruby McQuain Park.  Open to the public. 

Morgantown's Outdoor Rental Center

Located downtown along the Mon River Rail Trail, and just adjacent from the Hazel Ruby McQain Ampitheater, the Mon River Rental Center is Morgantown's home to outdoor rental equipment. Open to the public, participants can choose between hourly boat and bike rentals. Explore Mon River Rail Trail via bike or paddle the Mon River on a kayak. Guided group experiences are also available. Take a trip to your next outdoor adventure. Outdoor adventures in Morgantown are closer than you think.

Adventure WV is now operating an outdoor recreation rental service in a newly constructed facility in downtown Morgantown.

We are located trailside at mile 9.7 of the Mon River Rail Trail at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park's Walnut Street Landing.

The project will expand the accessibility of recreational opportunities along the Monongahela River. The facility will be open to the public and will provide adventure seekers with access to kayaks, paddleboards, PFDs, bicycles, helmets and more. Child- and family-friendly equipment will be added in the spring.

Rental Details:

  • Facility is closed for Winter 2022-23 and will reopen April 2023
  • Rentals start at $10.00 per hour for comfort bikes, kayaks and paddleboards. 
  • At this time, payments can only be accepted via our online check-out system. Cash and point of sale credit card swipes cannot be accepted. 
  • Users will need to have a device that can scan a QR Code in order to finalize their rental reservation.
  • A valid driver’s license or WVU ID is also required for renting equipment.

  • In the event of inclement weather that may cause outdoor activities to be unsafe (i.e., thunderstorms, hail), we will make the decision to close or delay opening. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. In the event of closing or delayed opening, information can be found on our social media.
