WVU's Day of Giving is Scheduled for Wednesday, March 26th.
The Adventure WV program is guided by the values of integrity, student-centrism, community and collaboration, challenge, quality and professionalism and adventure. By supporting us this Day of Giving, you'll be providing much needed funds to help us in the fulfillment of our mission. Donations of $5, $10, $15, or more will undoubtedly make an impact on our ability to support our student staff and continue our efforts to alleviate financial and material barriers to participation. All proceeds will go directly to the following initiatives:
- Provide scholarships for students to participate in our extended and international
trips. These opportunities encourage students to prioritize personal growth,
leadership development, and social responsibility
- Provide the essential gear for students to utilize during our trips. In order to
alleviate barriers to participation, and thus make our programs more accessible, jackets,
layers, boots and other critical personal equipment needs will be purchased and
made available for students prior to their experience.
- Cultivate relationships with academic and campus partners to support the overall
retention effort at WVU. Our aim is to collaborate to identify vulnerable
populations and strategically engage these student segments with empirically
driven program experiences.
- Provide professional development opportunities to our student staff. This allows our staff to expand their leadership and enhance our effectiveness of peer-to-peer programs.

Below you’ll find a few opportunities that are scheduled to occur on March 26th. There’s even an opportunity to participate in a challenge leading up to Day of Giving next week. Make sure to include #WVUDayofGiving and tag @adventure_wv in your submission.
- The Foundation has identified that
posting on Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) work best for their social media
challenges. If you choose to share something on social media, we do ask
that you utilize the hashtag
#WVUDayofGiving and tag
@adventure_wv in the caption of your photo or video.
- Pre-Day of Giving Challenges: Help spread the word about WVU Day of Giving by sharing the promotional video from the @WVUFoundation Facebook account (posted on March 17). The top two participating groups that receive the most shares of the video from their page from March 17 through the end of the day on March 25 will win additional funding. Prize Amount: First Place: $500 | Second Place: $500

Day of Giving Flag Prop Challenge: Take a photo or video with the
Day of Giving flag prop, and share on social media with the hashtag
#WVUDayofGiving
and tagging
@adventure_wv in the caption and photo. The Foundation will select
one of the best posts between
March 17 and March 25 to receive an extra $500 for the unit tagged.

WVU Gear Photo Challenge: This is an "All-Day" Challenge, meaning winners will be selected at the following times: 9 a.m. | 2 p.m. | 7 p.m. Post a picture of yourself and/or your kid(s) in WVU gear. Be sure to schedule your posts accordingly. The most creative will be chosen at the times identified to earn additional funding. Prize Amount: Three total winners of $625 each

WVU Pet Photo Challenge: This is an "All-Day" Challenge, meaning winners will be selected at the following times: 11 a.m. | 4 p.m. | 9 p.m. On social, share a picture of your pet(s) in WVU gear. Be sure to schedule your posts accordingly. The most creative will be chosen at the times identified to earn additional funding. Prize Amount: Three total winners of $625 each
- "Country Roads" Challenge: This is an "All-Day" Challenge, meaning winners will be selected at the following times: 12 p.m. | 5 p.m. | 10 p.m. “Country roads, take me home, to the place I belong…” Record a video of yourself singing or performing “Country Roads”. Be sure to schedule your posts accordingly. The most creative will be chosen at the times identified to earn additional funding. Prize Amount: Three total winners of $625 each
- Other Challenges & Social Ambassadors: In addition to the challenge presented above, many other challenges will be occurring throughout March 26th. We encourage everyone to browse these opportunities, and participate in whatever challenge they think might benefits our department. You can also sign-up to become a Fundraising Ambassador. By becoming an ambassadors, you'll be given access to additional tools, graphics and URL's to help raise additional funds.
