A collaboration between Adventure WV and The Carruth Center at WVU offers students subsidized immersive programs that blend social connection with wellness-focused curriculum into experiences that enhance their overall well-being.
These shorter programs are dedicated to fostering discussions about well-being within the group, all while engaging in leisurely activities. These programs aim to create an environment where participants can share their thoughts, experiences, and insights into their well-being.
Register for a Community & Convos OfferingThese are longer programs are designed to promote well-being through engaging in outdoor activities that challenge both the mind and body, accompanied by thoughtful conversations. These programs are perfect for those who find growth and fulfillment in learning new things and engaging in meaningful dialogue.
Register for a Getaway & Grow OfferingThis is a semester-long, weekly program that will use positive psychotherapy and therapeutic adventure to enhance well-being, build strengths, and improve relationships. Through nature therapy, mutual support, and weekly activities, they will achieve greater enjoyment and optimism.
Communicate Your InterestAll offerings require a $10 payment at the time of registration, though it will
be fully refunded as long as you attend.
Please note that the WBAS offerings are only available to current WVU students.
Well-Being Adventure Series is open to all WVU students. You must be currently enrolled as a student. All participants must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
All of the WBAS offerings are available for registration via
WVUGo. You can also register for programs in person at the
Outdoor Recreation Center
when they are open. Payment done online or in-person, must be done with a
credit card and will be refunded after participation.
None of the offerings require prior experience. Our guides will provide the expertise needed to teach and help you succeed in the trip you register for, though all participants must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria.

Adventure WV provides all the equipment you’ll need except for personal clothing and a water bottle. If you are prescribed any fast acting medication, such as an Epi-pen or an inhaler, please bring those with you as well.

Adventure WV employs student staff to serve as guides for our trips. All of our Guides hold a Wilderness First Aid certification, leadership training, and training specific to the activity they are leading. Our Path to Purpose semester-long program is facilitated by Carruth clinicians, Kelly Bailey and Chris Hamilton.
