A collaboration between Adventure WV and The Carruth Center at WVU offers students subsidized immersive programs that blend social connection with wellness-focused curriculum into experiences that enhance their overall well-being.

A $10 payment is required at the time of registration, though it will be fully refunded as long as you attend.
Cancellations greater than 24 hours from the program start time will be refunded. Cancellations received less than 24 hours from the program start will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please note that the WBAS offerings are only available to current WVU students.
Well-Being Adventure Series offerings are open to all WVU students. You must be currently enrolled as a student. You must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria.
All of the WBAS offerings are available for registration via
WVUGo. You can also register in person at the
Outdoor Recreation Center
when they are open. Payment done online or in-person must be done with a
credit card.
After registering, as your offering gets close, you will receive an email from one of your student leaders with information detailing how to best prepare.
For offerings that include equipment (bikes, boats, pickleball racquets, etc.), it will be provided. None of the offerings require prior experience. Our student staff will provide the support you need to enjoy your time! Please note that all participants must meet the Essential Eligibility Criteria. If you are prescribed any fast acting medication, such as an Epi-pen or an inhaler, make sure to bring those with you!
Costs for WBAS offerings (food/snacks, admission fees, supplies, etc.) are covered by the Gruver Family Evergreen Fund. Students are welcome to bring additional spending money, though it is not expected or required. Adventure WV employs student staff to facilitate all of the Well-Being Adventure Series offerings. All staff hold a Wilderness First Aid certification and have undergone training in curriculum and relevant activity skills. Carruth clinicians may sometimes join the Well-Being Adventures. The Path to Purpose semester-long group is facilitated by Carruth clinicians, Cody Goforth and Chris Hamilton.
