Experience the thrill of rock climbing on our massive 50-foot climbing wall at the Student Rec Center. Any Student Recreation Center member can use the climbing wall.
Experience Climbing
Designed to replicate the unique beauty of West Virginia’s outdoors, the wall is 50 feet tall and features more than 2,000 interchangeable hand-holds attached to more than 3,500 square feet of climbing surface. The wall features include crack climbs, overhangs, dihedrals and arêtes which allow for a wide range of climbs, from beginner to advanced. There is also a bouldering cave with overhanging climbing surfaces that will challenge even the most accomplished climbers. Students of all skill levels can challenge themselves, hone their skills, and keep in shape at the WVU Climbing Wall.
Learn How to Belay
This 90-minute class is only $5 and will provide you with the knowledge to pass our belay certification test.

Kids can come to the Climbing Wall on Friday evenings from 5-8 PM during the academic year to enjoy the experience of climbing and be belayed by one of our staff members. All equipment is provided!
