Outdoor Rentals & DIY

We have the resources to help outfit your next outdoor adventure. Visit our Outdoor Recreation Center for equipment options that span all four seasons. Also, search the best catalog of outdoor area resources by visiting the DIY Outdoor website.

Get out outside to explore new places, gain skills, meet new people and have fun. A wide range of trips focusing on beginner opportunities in backpacking, kayaking, climbing, camping, hiking, bicycling, skiing and more.

Aerial Adventures

Located just outside of Morgantown off the Coopers Rock exit, the WVU Outdoor Education Center is home to the WVU Zip-Line Canopy Tour, as well as three unique aerial trekking activities: Giant Swing, Alpine Tower and Odyssey Course.

Nearly all of Adventure WV’s programs and services are delivered by WVU students. Whether your pursing a profession in the outdoors or seeking a career as an engineer, Adventure WV Student Staff Positions are open to everyone.

What is Adventure WV?

The Adventure WV program is WVU’s Award-Winning outdoor adventure education program.

The Adventure WV program serves the WVU student body, WVU staff and faculty, and greater Morgantown community through its First Year Trips, Aerial Adventures, Climbing Wall, Custom Programs, Guided Trips, Workshops & Seminars, Special Events, Equipment Rentals, Facility Rentals, DIY resources and employment opportunities.  

The Adventure WV program is a housed in the Office of Student Wellness, a division of Student Life at WVU. The program is run by 10 professionals, 5 graduate assistants and over 100 student staff members. Visit the STAFF page to meet our team.

Getting started with Adventure WV depends on whether you are a member of the WVU student community, faculty & staff community or greater Morgantown community.

Are there rules I should be aware of?

All participants must meet Essential Eligibility Criteria and be aware of our Tobacco Policy. First Year Trips students should make special note of the Cell Phone Policy.
