HERE'S WHAT TO EXPECT:

Aerial Adventures

Step out of your comfort zone and onto our high ropes course. Odyssey groups will spend two nights at our Outdoor Education Center participating in our exhilarating aerial trekking activities.

Yurts & Camping

Odyssey participants spend their nights sleeping in yurts and tents! Our yurts have bunkbeds with mattresses, and we use 6-person tents when at campgrounds.

White Water Rafting

All our trips offer a rafting component! You’ll enjoy a day on the Youghiogheny River with all your peers guided by Laurel Highlands.


ALL FIRST-YEAR TRIPS ARE SIMILAR AT THEIR CORE.

  • Trips are $95 or less
  • All technical and camping equipment is provided
  • Require no prior experience
  • Offer 1 Fall academic credit
  • Establish a support system and community prior to stepping on campus
  • Include meaningful discussions about the college transition
  • Peer-led by highly trained student staff

To combine a New Student Orientation session with an AWV First-Year Trip in one visit, register for one of the trips identified below to receive priority registration for the NSO date before your FYT. Optional priority NSO registration ends March 2nd at midnight.

**Free Trip: Students who register and attend the trip may participate for free. Students who register and cancel or no-show to their trip will still be charged the $95 registration fee.
