Job Description

Adventure WV’s Program Support and Rental Operations (PSSRO) student staff provide critical support for Adventure WV programs and operations. PSSRO staff will work both at the Outdoor Recreation Center (in the SRC, Evansdale Campus) and at Adventure WV’s satellite rental location, Morgantown Adventure Outfitters (downtown, near Ruby Hazel McQuain Park). Staff will prepare equipment and food for Adventure WV programs, manage inventory, clean and repair equipment after programs, assist customers with equipment rentals and assist with other AWV operations. PSSRO staff should be prepared to offer quality customer service, maintain attention to detail, follow record keeping procedures, use various software platforms for equipment and task management and communicate thoroughly and clearly with other PSSRO and AWV staff members.

Duty and Responsibilities

  • Enforcing policy and procedures
  • Customer Service
  • Tracking and inventorying equipment 
  • Front Desk administration
  • Opening & Closing facility 
  • Cleaning & Repairing equipment
  • Fitting equipment to customers 
  • Management of equipment via Fusion platform
  • Management of tasks via Sling and Basecamp platforms
  • During the summer months: Assist with evacuations/participant transportation for First Year Trips 

Job Requirements

  • WVU student
  • Minimum age 18 (or approval of AWV Director if under 18)
  • Demonstrated interested in Program Support and Rental Operations
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting/carrying heavy objects such as boats and bins
  • Ability to demonstrate required technical skills upon training 
  • Ability to use Fusion, Sling, Basecamp, email
  • Ability to drive a 12 passenger van with trailer (some exceptions may be made to this requirement)
  • Bike Technician Position: Must demonstrate prior knowledge of bicycle maintenance and repairs
